How much disk space can I use? |

All accounts in the instructional laboratories are assigned a pre-set limit to the amount of disk space the account can use. When this limit is reached, the system will allow no further files to be written. To check your current disk quota, you can use the "quota -v" command on all unix systems. Microsoft Windows users will see a pop up window at logon that displays their disk space usage. Currently, College of Engineering accounts have at least a 100MB quota (CS undergrads start with a quota of 100MB and 4000 files). If you feel you need more space than initially allocated, you can request additional space for legitimate instructional needs only.
