College of Engineering Honors Program

The College of Engineering has an Honors Program for outstanding undergraduate students. Approximately the top 10% of the entering freshman and transfer classes qualify for the Honors Program. Transfer students are invited to join the Honors Program based on their UC transferable grade point average. Eligible students will be invited to join the Honors Program prior to their first regular quarter at UCSB.

Some of the opportunities available through the program include:

  • Honors seminar
  • Opportunity to live in the Scholars Residence Hall
  • Peer mentor program
  • Graduate library privileges
  • Priority registration each quarter
  • Social Club
  • Individual Honors research contract with faculty
  • Community service

Students who are not eligible for the program at admission will have the opportunity to petition to join after starting at UCSB by earning a grade point average of 3.5 or higher in 12 or more letter-graded units. For more information contact: honors@engineering.ucsb.edu.
